Massage
Vishesh
This invigorating massage utilizes marma point therapy, and begins to move ama (toxins)
from the tissues while stimulating lymphatic flow. By Ayurvedic standards, this is a deep tissue massage which breaks up adhesions and improves circulation. The massage is tailored to the individual with rhythm and oils adjusted to suit the person’s constitution. Vishesh massage removes blockages to increase blood flow, improve digestion, and awaken the energy sources and deeper levels of consciousness. While results vary with the individual, I recommend this massage for those feeling heavy, sluggish or in need of a jump start! It can reduce tension and clear areas of stagnation, the root cause of pain. Contraindicated during pregnancy, or an acute case of cold or flu.
60 minutes, $75
Vishesh therapy packages ~ 3 for $200 or 4 for $255
Snehana (Abhyanga)
Snehana is a specific Ayurvedic massage technique. ‘Sneha’ in sanskrit literally means ‘oil’, and is also translated as ‘love.’ This long massage, 90 minutes, is a full-body oil massage that focuses on calming and soothing the elements of air and ether present in our bodies – Vata, essentially – by moving the vayus (winds) in their correct direction in the body. I choose herbalized oils tailored specifically to your needs.
This massage brings you more firmly connected to the earth, grounding scattered energy. It increases the qualities of ‘manda’ (slowness) and snigdha (unctuousness, softness). This is good for an active mind, anxiety or insomnia, dry skin, as well as cracking or stiff joints and sore muscles. As with any massage, it helps to move lymphatic tissue, encouraging your body to better naturally detoxify.
90 minutes, $85
Snehana therapy packages ~ 3 for $225 or 4 for $290

Shirodhara
A stream of warm oil is poured on your third eye center after a short head and neck massage. This profound treatment focuses on the manas, the mind and it’s subtle channels. The sensation aids in the removal of mental ‘sludge.’ It is recommended for a scattered mind, insomnia, nervousness, anxiety, and mental tension or stress. Shirodhara softly holds you in a meditative state, which will stay with you for hours, or even days. This is an ancient and luxurious treatment. It is traditionally performed after an oil massage, but the treatment can stand on its own. For the most benefit, a series of treatments is recommended.
1 treatment – 45 minutes, $70
A series of 3 for $175
It is recommend that you have this treatment after a Snehana massage – For more information on shirodhara and how it works, see this blog post.
